Local Leagues Postpone Operations until April 6th

Hesperia, CALIF. (March 12, 2020) - After consultation with Little League International Headquarters, Little
League Western Regional Headquarters and county health officials, local league programs within District
49 have elected to postpone all Little League operations until April 6, 2020 as a precautionary measure to
prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Earlier in the day, Little League released a statement requesting that local leagues postpone their seasonal
operations. “For those leagues that have already begun their seasons, we kindly ask that you postpone all
league activity that may involve the gathering of individuals for games, practices, events, or meetings,” said
Steven Keener, President and CEO of Little League International. “If you have not started your season, we
kindly ask that you modify your schedule and season plans to start no earlier than April 6.”

District and Local League officials will continue to provide updates to our players, parents and fans as we
receive them from Little League International. District 49 and the local leagues are determined to ensure
that our players receive a full season of games and we will work together to ensure that children in the High
Desert can enjoy a 2020 baseball and softball season.

Little League International and District 49 will continue to provide additional guidance on the impact of
delaying the season on player eligibility and tournament participation. At this time, no decision has been
made regarding delaying the start of the Little League International Tournament, however, it is the hope of
all volunteers that the Little League seasons can continue uninterrupted after April 6.
